What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Manufacturing Engineer position at Maclivaro Limited?
Senior Manufacturing Engineer – High-Volume Electromechanical Automation (Boston, MA)
On-site | Boston, MA
$160,000 – $210,000 base bonus benefits
We are seeking a highly experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development and scale-up of advanced electromechanical products into high-volume, automated production.
This is a senior, hands-on engineering role where you will take complex devices from prototype through to full commercial manufacturing, owning the process design, automation strategy, and production readiness.
If you thrive in environments where engineering, automation, and product scale-up intersect, this is a chance to make a direct impact on products that must perform reliably at scale in highly regulated, high-reliability industries.
What You’ll Do
- Lead development of high-volume electromechanical assembly and manufacturing processes
- Design and implement automated production systems (robotics, fixtures, tooling, test & inspection automation)
- Drive DFM/DFA from early design through production launch
- Own manufacturing scale-up from prototype → pilot → full production
- Develop and optimise robust, repeatable, validated manufacturing processes
- Lead PFMEA, process flow design, control plans, and manufacturing risk mitigation
- Improve yield, throughput, cycle time, and OEE
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions on complex manufacturing issues
- Support equipment selection, qualification, and validation
- Partner closely with design engineering, quality, operations, and supply chain teams
- Engage with contract manufacturers and suppliers where required
What We’re Looking For
- 8–12 years’ Manufacturing Engineering experience in high-volume production environments
- Strong experience with electromechanical assemblies and complex device manufacturing
- Proven track record of manufacturing automation and production line development
- Experience taking products from design stage into scalable production
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, PFMEA, and continuous improvement
- Hands-on experience with automated systems, robotics, fixtures, and test equipment
- Experience in regulated or high-reliability industries (Medical Devices strongly preferred, but aerospace, automotive, robotics, or industrial automation also relevant)
- Strong understanding of DFM/DFA principles in real production environments
Ideal Background
- We’re especially interested in engineers from environments such as:
- High-volume medical device manufacturing
- Automated production lines (robotics-integrated systems)
- Electromechanical product scale-up environments
- Contract manufacturing / manufacturing transfer projects
- Robotics, diagnostics, or complex electromechanical systems
Why This Role?
- Own the full manufacturing scale-up journey
- Work on complex, high-impact electromechanical products
- High visibility role with real influence on engineering and production strategy
- Strong autonomy in shaping automation and manufacturing architecture
- Fast-paced, engineering-led environment where your decisions matter
Interested?
If you’re an experienced Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys building scalable, automated production systems, we’d love to hear from you.
