The Finance Intern will work closely with the finance team to support a variety of accounting and financial functions, including budgeting, financial analysis, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. The role includes exposure to Accounts Payable support, month-end close activities, financial reporting, and opportunities to identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and add value to the organization.
Job Duties
- Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare entry-level month-end journal entries under supervision
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements
- Assist Accounts Payable (AO) with electronic filing and document management
- Assist in maintaining internal controls and documentation for audits
- Analyze financial data for trends and variances
- Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting and forecasting activities
- Support the implementation and monitoring of financial policies and procedures
- Participate in audits and regulatory compliance activities
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist with implementation initiatives
- Provide support for ad hoc financial projects and analysis
- Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
- Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong academic performance with coursework in financial accounting and reporting
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or ERP systems) is a plus
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive financial data confidentially
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- A strong desire to learn and contribute in a professional setting
- Real-world experience working with a corporate Controller
- Exposure to accounting systems and financial reporting processes
- Insight into the development and enforcement of financial controls
