Earning Potential
- Base Entry Rate: $26.49 per hour.
- Skill-Based Range: Up to $37.09 per hour based on our internal level system which is subject to skill level evaluation by our leadership team
- Shift Differential: $1.25 per hour for 2nd and 3rd shifts.
The Role
You will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.
Key Responsibilities By Expertise Level
- Foundational: Perform basic setup and operation of machine tools such as lathes and mills. Monitor feed and speed, maintain machine tools in proper condition, and perform basic CNC maintenance like maintaining fluid levels.
- Advanced: Study blueprints and engineering drawings to determine sequences of operations. Program CNC machine tools and diagnose malfunctions to determine necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Expert: Evaluate machining procedures and recommend modifications for improved efficiency. Design fixtures and tooling to meet special engineering needs and test experimental models.
- Education: Associate’s degree in CNC Machining or Tooling.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, and metal properties. Ability to use precision instruments like micrometers or vernier calipers.
- Shift Requirements: Ability to work second shift, third shift, and overtime as necessary.
- Bonus Skills: Experience in Lean Manufacturing and proficiency with CAD/CAM software are a major plus.
- Physical: Activities that occur frequently include standing, twisting, and near-vision use. Must be able to lift/carry up to 24 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs infrequently.
- Environment: Works in a foundry environment which includes exposure to dust, noise, vibration, moving objects, and extreme heat.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment assessment, physical, drug screen, and background check.
- Must comply with organizational policies, including a smoke and tobacco-free property.
