POSITION SUMMARY:
Mackin Engineers & Consultants is growing our Community Planning Team in our Pittsburgh office and is seeking an entry level planner. WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Assist with the preparation of a variety of planning projects, including but not limited to comprehensive plans, zoning and subdivision and land development ordinances, park plans, trail feasibility studies, and housing studies.
- Provide support to the planning department at all levels including:
- Research for and the creation of reports for clients, including writing, layout, and design.
- Participation in site visits.
- Collection and analysis of demographic and land use data.
- Interaction with clients and the public, including attendance and presenting at project meetings.
- Research best practices, legal regulations, and development standards.
- Support marketing efforts, including participation in project interviews.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Community Planning or a related discipline.
- One to five years experience in Community Planning or related discipline.
- AICP certification (preferred but not required).
- Knowledge ArcGIS (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud software (a plus).
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
