Early Career Project Engineer (job description)
We have partnered with a Global Tier 1 Automotive Manufacturer in Northwest OH to lead a search for their Early Career Project Engineer.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering (or related field such as Automotive Engineering) from a four-year college or university.
- 1-5 years experience in engineering in an Automotive manufacturing environment
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Project Management of multiple projects using APQP methodology.
- Schedule and lead APQP meetings internally with cross functional teams.
- Customer contact: Designer, Product Design Engineer, Mating Component(s) Engineer(s), Test Engineers, Engineering Supervisors.
- Establish customer requirements/expectations: Interchangeability, service requirements, performance requirements, weight requirements, and homologation requirements.
- Establish part parameters: Oscillation (kinematic requirements), road load (dynamic requirements), and orientation (static requirements).
- Weight analysis - solid modeling (NX, or Inventor).
- Stress analysis - classical/ FEA (Linear Static, Nonlinear, and Fatigue) (Inventor).
- Oversee, apply, or approve appropriate GD&T as needed to 2D drawings.
- Oversee and approve 2D drawings and 3D models in appropriate customer CAD system
- Develop 3D solid models (Inventor).
- Develop 2D assembly drawings (AutoCAD, or Inventor).
- Develop 2D detail drawings (AutoCAD, or Inventor).
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
