Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Laser Screed Operator/Equipment Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining paving equipment to ensure smooth, high-quality concrete surfaces on civil infrastructure projects. Duties
- Operate Somero Laser screed machines and paving equipment and concrete with precision and efficiency, ensuring consistent thickness and smoothness.
- Maintain and troubleshoot construction machinery, including Somero Laser Screeds, dump trucks, loaders, and concrete pumps, adhering to safety regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs; perform basic repairs or coordinate with maintenance teams.
- Follow all safety protocols, including DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and team members.
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of paving tasks within project specifications.
- Support the preparation of construction sites by operating heavy machinery such as loaders and dump trucks; assist in material handling and site cleanup.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating paving equipment, screeds, heavy machinery, or working on construction sites in a civil infrastructure role.
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with bituminous materials, concrete pouring, and concrete finishing techniques.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements, quantities, and adjustments during paving operations.
- Knowledge of safety regulations including DOT standards, construction site safety protocols, and equipment operation safety procedures.
- Valid commercial truck driving license or experience with commercial vehicles such as dump trucks or concrete mixers is preferred.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety guidelines.

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
