Material Expediter

Essential Functions:

1. Produces production report for manufacturing;
2. Processes purchased part requisitions from manufacturing and enters inventory transactions on the computer system;
3. Utilizes measuring devices and applies basic mathematical equations;
4. Performs minor product repair;
5. Ensures that parts are in compliance with customer specifications, ISO requirements, and/or customer component quality requirements;
6. Ensures consistency of product quality and identification information prior to shipment to internal or external customers;
7. Properly labels, identifies inspection status, and stores accepted product in secured storage per ISO procedures;
8. Retrieves purchased part line rejects from manufacturing area and dispositions as directed;
9. Performs cycle counting as required to maintain inventory accuracy;
10. Participates on cycle counting team and quarterly inventory;
11. Tracks purchased parts and assist in running summarized bills;
12. Processes customer returns and hold tags;
13. Acts as back-up manufacturing scheduler as needed;
14. Maintains open lines of communication regarding quality issues within departments including various logs and reports and follows up on issues;
15. Performs a variety of quality tests and product verification procedures;
16. Recommends to management any required modifications to work instructions and assists with training;
17. Initiates for approval ISO quality documentation (temporary deviation, DVQR change forms, NPMR, other information system changes, etc.); forwards and follows up as appropriate;
18. Maintains good attendance, flexibility in job assignments, adaptable to changing business needs, and continually learns and applies new skills;
19. Works with co-workers in a safe, professional, and cooperative manner;
20. Meets minimum physical/mental demand levels with or without reasonable accommodation;

General Duties / Responsibilities / Mental Demands:

Operate Equipment:                  Computer (PC, Mapics, Agile, and Label Maker), calipers, hand-

                                                truck, forklift, various measuring/testing equipment and scales.

Administrative:                          ISO compliance; see/read/follow work instructions, DVQRs, Pareto charting, blue print reading, labels, time card, and labor tickets; Inventory procedures; cycle counting, BOM, and general forms as determined.

Quality:                                     Accuracy with paperwork, recognize defects and address; follow work instructions; clear/correct written and verbal communication; follow procedures on defects and other as needed.

Productivity:                             Working knowledge and successful performance experience with the production process, job requirements, and related activities of department assigned; provide problem solving assistance to operators, leaders, supervisors, managers, program engineers.

Health/Safety:                           Follow safety rules, guidelines, and training given; cleanliness of workstation/housekeeping; maintain good personal hygiene; recognize hazards and report to designated individual(s); participate in safety initiatives; report all accidents/injuries/near misses immediately; practice safe work habits; wear all required and appropriate PPE.

Pre-Requisites/Minimum Qualifications:

One-year certificate from college or technical school. Knowledge of ISO Quality Standard and Procedures; reading/mathematical skills to use and understand prints, procedures and instructions, measuring equipment, and related demands; demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills; use of basic computer skills (Microsoft Word/Excel); Prior finishing, assembly, or manufacturing experience preferred.  Knowledge of inventory, safety programs, forklift operations, and team facilitation preferred.   Strong leadership and organizational skills required; must be self - motivated and able to train and motivate others.  Basic technical and mechanical aptitude and experience needed.
