You must be:
-21yrs valid
- Valid Driver's license (2yrs Min)
- Clean driving record,
- High School or GED is required for NYS Instructor Certification position.

In order to maintain the position you must pass the NYS Driving Instructor Exam. We will train you on how to instruct students and pass the NYS instructor exam. A one year commitment with the school is required but hours can be flexible. With a 2 year commitment you can get increased up to $23 if you take 2 remote college courses and Teach Driver's Ed. Note that 1 of these courses is required to maintain certification.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct driving lessons for students of all ages, including adults and teenagers
- Teach behind-the-wheel instruction
- Provide guidance and instruction on traffic laws, rules of the road, and defensive driving techniques
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain a productive learning environment within the vehicle
- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback for improvement
- Ensure the safety of students during driving lessons
- Cell phone use is strictly limited to communication with our office during lessons

Skills:
- Adult education: Ability to effectively teach and engage adult learners
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information to students
- Education: Knowledge of teaching methods and techniques to facilitate student learning
- Driving: Proficient driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications but not Necessary (We can train you)

-Bilingual (Spanish even if a beginner is preferred but other languages can be an asset)
- Improvise and implement lesson plans to effectively educate students on safe driving practices
- Classroom management: Strong skills in managing a classroom setting and maintaining discipline (5HR Zoom Class) (Certification Required)

- Experience working with students: Previous experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred but not necessary

• This position requires obtaining and maintaining a New York State DMV Driving Instructor Certificate. Under Vehicle and Traffic Law § 394 and 15 NYCRR Part 76, the NYS DMV determines an applicant's eligibility for certification based on applicable licensing requirements. Driving instructors work one-on-one with adult students and, at times, 16- and 17-year-old minors.
