Position Overview
The Residential Service Plumber is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing plumbing systems in residential homes. This position requires strong technical ability, clear communication with customers, and adherence to industry codes and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair residential plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, and fixture malfunctions
- Install water heaters, sump pumps, disposals, faucets, toilets, and related equipment
- Provide clear, upfront pricing and obtain customer approval prior to beginning work
- Communicate scope of work and educate customers on system conditions and available solutions
- Promote service plans and maintenance agreements where appropriate
- Accurately document services performed, materials used, and time on site
- Submit job-related paperwork, receipts, and documentation in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked service vehicle
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing training
- Follow all safety procedures and properly use tools and equipment
- Assist with inventory tracking and vehicle inspections
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding job status and follow-ups
- Obtain and verify material orders as needed
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold company standards
- Support additional operational tasks as required
Qualifications
- 3 years of residential plumbing experience
- Journeyman Plumber License preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, safety practices, and residential systems
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and work in confined spaces (crawlspaces, attics, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass background screening and drug testing
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic
