Duties
- Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and cooking ingredients as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is prepared and stored correctly.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and mixers safely and efficiently.
- Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting any shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not required; a willingness to learn is essential.
- Basic culinary skills including knife handling and meal preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
