Macdonald & Company is partnered with a fast-growing, vertically integrated real estate development and investment platform based in Sevierville, TN to appoint a Development Manager.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join an entrepreneurial developer entering a significant new phase of growth. Backed by a major new capital partnership, the business has substantial capacity to pursue new acquisitions and developments across multifamily, workforce/affordable housing, hospitality, mixed-use and commercial real estate.
The Role
- Manage projects across the full development lifecycle from acquisition and predevelopment through construction and stabilization
- Lead zoning, entitlements, permitting and municipal approval processes
- Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors and third-party consultants
- Manage development budgets, schedules and critical project milestones
- Support due diligence and evaluation of new development opportunities
- Oversee design development and construction execution
- Work closely with lenders, equity/capital partners and internal stakeholders
- Manage project reporting, consultant costs and development documentation
- Identify and resolve issues impacting project schedule, budget and execution
- Support projects through completion, stabilization and transition to operations
The Background
- Meaningful experience within real estate development
- Multifamily, workforce or affordable housing experience strongly preferred
- Experience across multiple stages of the development lifecycle
- Strong understanding of entitlements, permitting, design and construction
- Comfortable managing development budgets and project schedules
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams
- Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them forward independently
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable operating within a growing organization
