Lead Installer - Residential Flooring and Tile

Job Summary:

Performs manual work in floor covering and tile installation, maintenance, repair, and removal. Ensure services are provided effectively and efficiently according to the standards provided by the Company.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

· Installation, service or removal of flooring and tile.

· Troubleshoot installations or repairs to determine the best solution for the customer and project.

· Complete paperwork accurately, timely, and in its entirety.

· Communicate and interact professionally with team members, other departments, and customers.

· Project a professional and positive image while representing the Company on job sites, social media, and within the community.

· Prepare surfaces by sweeping, scraping, sanding, or chipping dirt and irregularities from base surfaces, and filling cracks with putty, plaster, or grout to form smooth, clean foundations.

· Cut floor coverings and foundation material according to blueprints and sketches.

· Determine traffic areas and best location(s) for seams if not previously specified in instructions.

· Mix and apply required compounds to join and adhere foundation and flooring materials.

· Lay out center lines, guidelines, and borderlines with chalk line and dividers.

· Independently keep the job on schedule according to the allotted installation time provided.

· Communicate accurate and detailed updates of projects with Installation Manager.

· Keep job site properly cleaned and maintained throughout installation processes and all equipment, tools, and materials are removed upon completion.

· Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the floor covering trades.

· A commitment to safety precautions of the trade.

· Ability to read and understand constructions plans, sketches, visual instructions, and layouts.

• Participate in educational and safety opportunities as needed to refresh, update, and enhance skills and knowledge that pertain to job responsibilities, company operations, customer interests and industry outlook. This may include workshops, webinars, learning sessions, reading materials, classroom study, etc.
• Monitor processes. Ensure they are efficient and effective to complete work in a timely manner while being accurate.

· Perform additional responsibilities as requested and required.

Education and Experience:

· High School diploma or GED equivalent.

· A minimum of five or more years of flooring and/or tile installation experience is required.

· Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean, current three year driving abstract.

· Knowledge of tool and equipment safety is required.

Physical Requirements:

· Requires strenuous physical work including heavy lifting, working on hands/knees, pushing, or pulling objects.

· Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, crawl, crouch, kneel, squat, and go up and down stairs.

· Works is performed indoors with the exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, dust, and other airborne particles.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
