Overview
As the Pharmacist in Charge, you’ll lead pharmacy operations and deliver safe, responsive patient care. You’ll guide the pharmacy team, oversee medication preparation and administration, and ensure daily practices meet applicable state and federal pharmacy laws and healthcare requirements. Your impact: By coordinating accurate medication management and clear patient communication, you help patients and care teams make informed decisions and support continuity of care.
Responsibilities
- Oversee pharmacy operations, manage pharmacy teams, and support pharmacy technicians; use pharmacy software and Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS) and electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain accurate records.
- Review prescriptions, assess patient needs, provide medication counseling, and support immunizations, pain management, and medication administration.
- Supervise compounding medications
- Maintain pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, protect clinical confidentiality under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and apply drug regulation and other healthcare compliance requirements.
- Communicate with patients and care teams, using medical terminology and knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support care across settings, including pediatrics.
Qualifications
- Required: Current pharmacist licensure in the State of Tennessee and experience practicing as a pharmacist.
- Required: Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation, HIPAA, and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Preferred: Pharmacy manager experience and compounding experience
- Preferred: Basic life support (BLS)
Pay: $125,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
