Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals, ensuring that medications are stocked and organized.
- Process prescriptions, including verifying patient information and medication orders.
- Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications.
- Utilize aseptic technique when compounding sterile products, adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in critical care and acute care settings to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document all medication administration and maintain accurate records for compliance purposes.
- Stay informed about new medications, pharmacy policies, and relevant regulations.
Requirements
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred; experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and medication administration processes.
