Quality Assurance Technician – Metrology

Summary/objective

The role is responsible for ensuring machined parts meet company quality requirements. This includes CNC machined parts and fabricated sheet metal parts.

Essential functions (These are the job duties required for success in the job.)

· First piece inspection

· In-process inspection

· Final inspection of assemblies

· Review blueprints and job routers

· Support manufacturing process in “accept” or “reject” decisions

· Refer parts to MRB as needed for further review

· Calibrate gauges as needed

· Hand tools such as micrometers and calipers

· Familiarity with Coordinate Measurement Machine

Work environment

The employee will perform the duties associated with this job in a manufacturing environment. Occasionally, the employee will be exposed to moving equipment such as fork trucks, hazardous chemicals such as solvents and cleaners, moderate noise levels and moderate changes in ambient temperature.

Travel required

Education and experience

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· College degree in manufacturing engineering a plus

· 1 – 3 years of mechanical inspection

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

· Knowledge of GD&T a plus

· Knowledge of AS9102 a plus

Work authorization/security clearance requirements

Must be a US citizen or have the authority to work in the US
