Join our vibrant team as an After School Child Care provider, where your energy and dedication will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children after school hours. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising children, facilitating fun and assisting with homework and other educational activities, as well as ensuring their well-being through attentive care and effective behavior management. Your enthusiasm will help foster a positive atmosphere that encourages growth, learning, and social development.
We are an after school program. HOURS are between 2pm and 6pm. If you are chosen to pick up students from school, the hours are 1:30pm-6pm.
Duties
- Supervise children during after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to promote development and fun
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and consistent discipline strategies
- Assist children with homework and other educational needs to support their academic progress
- Follow first aid protocols and respond promptly to any injuries or emergencies using CPR or AED when necessary
- Maintain a clean, organized environment conducive to learning and play
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and any concerns
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, camp settings, youth programs, extensive baby sitting or similar environments
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols (training provided if necessary)
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively
- Background in special education or early childhood education is a plus
- Ability to engage children through creative activities such as theater, sports coaching, or tutoring
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and connect with children and parents effectively
- Must be able to pass background check (all roles) and have a clean driving record (if chosen for school pickup role)
