Responsibilities
- Assist with pet bathing, drying, brushing, and coat styling under supervision to ensure a comfortable grooming experience for each animal
- Learn proper animal restraint techniques to safely handle dogs, cats, and other small pets during grooming procedures
- Support grooming technicians with nail trimming, ear cleaning, and basic grooming tasks to develop your skill set
- Handle animals gently and confidently, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the grooming process
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and provide updates on their pets’ care
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools, workstations, and bathing areas to uphold hygiene standards
- Support with animal care duties such as feeding, kennel cleaning, and assisting with pet sitting or transportation as needed
Experience
- Passion for working with animals, especially dogs and cats; prior experience in pet bathing and handling or animal care is a plus but not required
- Basic knowledge of dog training, veterinary assistance, or veterinary technician experience is advantageous
- Familiarity with pet coat styling, pet grooming techniques, or animal restraint methods is preferred
- Strong communication skills for engaging with pet owners and team members effectively
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting when necessary for animal handling or equipment setup
- Customer service experience is beneficial for providing a positive experience for clients and their pets
- Willingness to learn new skills in pet care, animal handling, and grooming procedures in a fast-paced environment
