What are the responsibilities and job description for the Revenue Accountant position at MA Gaming Commission?
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is seeking to hire a Revenue Accountant. Under the direction of the Revenue Manager, this position is responsible for a variety of tasks to support the MGC’s Revenue Division.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Enter and track receivable invoices using the Massachusetts Management and Accounting Reporting System (MMARS) and the Commonwealth Information Warehouse (CIW).
Enter cash receipts in MMARS to transfer revenues to the correct accounting distribution and close out receivable invoices.
Perform monthly reconciliation of the racing license deposits to the bank statements.
Load daily CMS and casino reports to the CMS database to reconcile the CMS meter reads to the casino meter reads. Report monthly on the variances.
Use the Central Monitoring System (CMS) to generate and issue the daily tax and assessment invoices to the casinos and review daily casino tax packets to identify any discrepancies.
Assist co-workers with specific tasks related to both gaming and sports wagering.
Skills and Qualifications:
Working knowledge of MMARS.
Ability to utilize databases and run queries
Extensive experience with core software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Access
Experience, Education, and Training:
High School Diploma and a minimum of 3 to 5 years related work experience
Salary is commensurate with experience.
