Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Trash Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient delivery while adhering to all traffic regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy-duty vehicle operation, as well as the ability to perform heavy lifting and load/unload materials as needed. Some routs have a thrower and others require the driver to throw trash. Candidates must be able to get along with coworkers and customers.
Responsibilities
- Operate Trash Truck vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Follow route as given.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety standards are met.
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site supervisors regarding delivery schedules and potential issues.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks as required on job sites.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience driving dump trucks or similar heavy vehicles.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks (up to 50 pounds) regularly.
- Familiarity with operating various types of trucks including tractor-trailers is preferred.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to commercial driving and material handling.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to work flexible hours based on project needs.
