What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at M2 Logistics, Inc.?
As the HR Generalist, you will own the parts of M2’s HR function that carry the most compliance risk and the most judgment: benefits and regulatory compliance, payroll, and employee relations. You will be the HR partner to M2 leadership — trusted to run compliance-sensitive processes independently and coach people leaders through employee relations issues.
The Position
- Own ACA compliance work annually
- Support 401(k) compliance with T. Rowe Price, including the annual ERISA compliance audit
- Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for all vendors - Insurance Broker, 401k, etc.
- Partner with Insurance Broker during annual benefit selection
- Oversee the Motion Connected wellness program
- Guide employees through benefit enrollment, changes, and questions throughout the year
- Provide FMLA guidance and coordinate short- and long-term disability processes with the HR attorney as needed
- Complete and submit payroll; perform post-payroll accuracy checks before submission is finalized
- Calculate and process commission payments in coordination with Sales leadership
- Support compliance for associate transitions (e.g., role or pay-structure changes) and keep commission/budget worksheets current
- Advocate for and advance performance review program for M2, monitor completion rate, ensure program supports P2 methodologies
- Handle employee relations concerns and provide guidance to people leaders on workplace challenges
- Conduct 90-day sit-downs with new hires and exit interviews; document and share outcomes with the Director
- Assist in development of career development programs/ opportunities
- Maintain and update job descriptions in partnership with the Director
- Keep the employee manual current; flag needed updates and coordinate annual review
- Partner with the Director on strategy facilitation and change management initiatives as needed
- Owning an annual benefit review/audit
- Exploring captive insurance options
- Assist in a talent inventory process and incorporate into pipeline development actions- strengths & weaknesses

- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a related field preferred
- 3 years of HR generalist experience, with meaningful time in benefits administration, payroll, and employee relations
- Working knowledge of ACA, ERISA, and FMLA compliance requirements
- Familiarity with UKG or a comparable HRIS platform
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification (or in progress) preferred
- Experience in a logistics, transportation, or professional services environment preferred
