Food Service Supervisor (Nursing Home)11am-7pm

As the Food Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the kitchen. This primarily includes ensuring dietary aides are completing tasks, cooks are following the timeline set for meal completion, and evening meals are prepared in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations with our established policies and procedures. Reporting to the Food Service Director, you'll consult with the cooks and cook helpers to ensure that meals are prepared according to recipes in a timely manner and will provide input on menu planning and recipes.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Supervises kitchen operations and meal preps in accordance with the planned menu and standardized recipes.
• Delegates responsibilities to the cook/dietary aides regarding meal preparation.
• Consults with the Food Service Director, and others on the team to ensure proper tasks are being completed for food preparation, resident requests, the accuracy of tray items, compliance with medical diagnoses, menu changes, etc.
• Tests prepared food for temperature, appearance, and palatability.
• Attends and participates in managers meetings.
• Facilitates in-service training.
• Collects and records all relevant data, such as temperatures, special devices, etc.
• Ensures that the team follows safety regulations as well as maintaining clean storage areas and that proper food handling equipment techniques are used.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Food Service Director to ensure proper care of residents and efficient operation of the department.
  
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2 years experience as a Food Service Supervisor in a Healthcare setting required
• ServSafe certification is preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of operating equipment used in food preparation.
• Must be able to read, understand, and speak fluent English.
• Ability to follow recipes and production sheets and make calculations when adjusting recipes and menu portions.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets, portion control, and dietary practices and procedures.
• Proven leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with others.
• Fully vaccinated for COVID-19
