What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position at M2 HEALTHCARE LTD?
COTA Duties Include:
- Provides skilled occupational therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.
- Responds to requests for service by relaying information and referral to Registered Occupational Therapist.
- Implements and modifies the patient’s occupational therapy plan of treatment with OTR supervision
- Monitors patient responses to treatments and modifies it during treatment sessions as necessary.
- Observe residents and write progress reports.
- The Occupational Therapy Assistant will be responsible for documenting patient treatments, changes in condition and other pertinent information as required.
- Must have an active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in good standing in the state of NY.
- Long term care experience preferred
- Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
