M1 is looking for an Apprentice Maintenance Test Pilot with the following knowledge and experience : SUMMARY : Performs flights and demonstrates proficiency during standardization flights on aircraft. Performsperformance data calculations for takeoff, cruise, and landing configurations of aircraft in which theindividuals are qualified. 1. Performs pre-flight, in-flight and post-flight procedures in accordance with Company, Army orAir Force directives depending on assignment. 2. Performs operational ground checks (leak check, 14 day run ups etc.). Makes appropriate(verbal or written log entry) recommendations to assist ground personnel in correctingdeficiencies. 3 . Performs flight duties to support maintenance test pilots during test flights, maintenanceoperation checks (MOC), aircraft recovery and ferry flights.4 . Keeps abreast of and complies with FAA and local flying regulations and safetyprocedures as applicable for the job.5. Maintains proficiency in basic flight maneuvers, appropriate aircraft emergency procedures andinstrument flying consistent with Army or Air Force technical publications and Companyrequirements.6. Briefs and demonstrates operational and emergency procedures to flight crew and non-crewmembers. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : 1. When not actually engaged in the physical operation of the aircraft, must be willing to be engaged instudy, preparation and personal development to further physical and mental skills required tooperate aircraft. 2 . Operates motor vehicles in performance of assigned duties. 3 . Required to participate in instrument flight simulator training. 4. May be required to fly profile flights, which may include NVG and PNVS. 5. Completes records as required by TAMMS-A necessary to record aircraft and / or engine performance data. Completes maintenance documentation accurately using Integrated Maintenance QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : 1 .Must demonstrate successfully the ability to start, run-up, fly, navigate and land aircraft that theindividual is qualified to operate. 2 . Must hold a valid and current FAA Commercial Pilot certificate with rotorcraft and instrumentratings in the aircraft class (fixed, rotary or both) for which a position is offered. 3 . Must hold a valid FAA Instrument rating in the designated aircraft class for which job is offered. 4. Must have recorded (and proof presented) a minimum of one thousand (1, 000) hours as pilot incommand in the specific aircraft class for which a position is offered. Must have recorded (and proofpresented) a minimum of one thousand five hundred (1,500) hours of pilot in command in the specificaircraft class for which a position is offered with five hundred (500) hours experience in helicopters ofwhich at least two hundred fifty (250) hours must have been in the UH-I H or Bell 205 when assigned tothe Air Force Project. Fifty percent of minimum flight time of pilot in command can be in commercialaircraft similar to or already in the Army or Air Force's inventory when position is offered. EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE : High school diploma or equivalent - General Educational Development (GED) certificate. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : 1. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole integers, commonand decimal fractions.2. Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpolations necessary for aircraft and engineperformance. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : 1. Must hold a valid and current FAA or military Class II Medical Certificate as prescribed by theGovernment. Must undergo initially and annually thereafter, flight physical(s) prior to piloting an U. S. Army or Air Force aircraft. OTHER REQUIREMENTS : 1. Bargaining unit employees currently on the active payroll of the Company shall be offered, by seniority, theApprentice program and re-classification prior to outside hiring if they meet the minimum qualifications identified inthe education and experience above. 2. Qualified or previously qualified employees within the specified classification will not be downgraded into thisclassification. 3. The Apprentice will be required to satisfactorily perform 100% of the OJT requirements during the on-the-jobtraining phase of the apprenticeship. 4. In no event will an Apprentice work independently from a fully qualified MTP or Standardization pilot. 5. Apprentices may be temporarily assigned to a different shift or location / work center in accordance with theCollective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) to receive and complete the required practical training. 6. Employees in this classification will not compete for, nor work overtime, until all permanent and temporaryemployees in the MTP classification on the same shift, location, and project have been offered the overtime. At notime will an Apprentice work overtime alone without a MTP. 7. Apprentices that fail to successfully complete the AMOC II program within 180 days will be removed from theapprentice program and may be terminated from the company, subject to the grievance procedure unless extendedby mutual agreement. 8. All Apprentices will be indefinitely laid off in accordance with Section 4.7 of the CBA prior to the indefinite layoff ofany employees qualified within the classification. 9. Apprentices will be assigned to an MOS upon entering the Apprentice Program and will remain on the same MOSfor the duration of their apprenticeship program. Apprentices maybe assigned to any project as determined by theCompany. 10. Upon completion of Apprenticeship and progression to the classification in which the employee apprenticed,employee will be held on the MOS for a twenty four (24) month period in accordance with the Collective BargainingAgreement (CBA). In addition, the candidate should possess the following requirements : GENERAL REQUIREMENTS OF ALL CLASSIFICATIONS OTHER DUTIES : 1. Operates motor vehicles, machines and special purpose equipment as required by the job assignment.2. Performs prescribed cleaning, preservation and operator maintenance on vehicles, tools and equipment.Performs housekeeping duties in immediate work area.3. Ensures that tools and equipment used by the employee in the classification are properly calibrated.4. When selected, attends schools and classes, which are designated by the Company for employees in theassigned classification.5. Uses approved methods and publications in the performance of the assigned job.6. Performs the duties of lower classified employees within the line of progression when assigned.7. May be allowed to occasionally perform those assignments of employees holding the next higherclassification in the line of progression in order to qualify for promotion except for Aircraft Mechanic toAircraft Technical / NDT Inspector.8. Completes and maintains records and reports as required by job assignment.9. Demonstrates job procedures and assists in the on-the-job training (OJT) of employees within theclassification as required.10. Performs imaging technology (scanning and other related) functions as required by the job assignment.11. Disposes of hazardous materials related to job assignment.12. Performs duties using automated equipment and software utilized in the functional assignment.13. May remove and reinstall cowlings, panels and fairings necessary to gain access to work within hisclassification.14. Employees assigned to the Flight-line will support the customer by assisting in untying or securing aircraft(meet and greet), summoning other assistance if needed or working issues within their assignedclassification. LANGUAGE SKILLS : 1. Read, write, speak and understand English. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : 1. High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate. This requirementis waived for employees with seniority dates prior to May 3, 1999.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : 1. Must be physically able to perform duties and responsibilities of the classification. 2. Must be able to work with required materials without debilitating irritation to skin, eyes or respiratorysystem while wearing the required personal protective equipment.OTHER REQUIREMENTS : 1. Must have a valid state driver's license when required by job assignment. 2. Must obtain a valid government driver's license when required by job assignment. 3. Must obtain a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) to include hazardous material endorsement whenrequired by job assignment. 4. Must obtain the level of Industrial Security Clearance required by the Government.
