Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated apprentice Carpenter/Laborer to join our team and begin a rewarding career in Commercial and Residential construction. This entry-level position offers hands-on training and mentorship from experienced carpenters in a collaborative, supportive environment. You'll work on varied project types and sizes while developing fundamental carpentry skills and learning the trade from the ground up. The right candidate will have a strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and the potential to advance into skilled carpenter roles as they gain experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced carpenters with construction tasks from rough framing through finish work on commercial and residential projects
  • Measure, cut, and prepare materials under supervision
  • Handle and organize materials, tools, and equipment on job sites
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
  • Learn and practice safe work procedures and comply with OSHA regulations
  • Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Support project teams with material handling and job site preparation
  • Participate in ongoing training and skill development opportunities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Little to no experience required – we provide training!
  • Basic familiarity with hand and power tools preferred
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop carpentry skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50-75 lbs) and work in various conditions
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites in Southern Maine
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality work
  • Ability to follow instructions and take direction from experienced team members
