Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with automotive diagnostics, and proficiency in using hand tools and power tools. This role involves working with industrial equipment, heavy machinery, and vehicle maintenance to ensure optimal operation and safety standards across our fleet and machinery.
Duties
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC components.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, and brake repairs.
- Operate and troubleshoot heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial machinery.
- Read and interpret schematics for complex repairs involving electrical systems, hydraulics, and mechanical assemblies.
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of equipment parts using power tools and hand tools.
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly to clients or supervisors.
- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols during all repair activities.
- Prep for winter season/ connect plows & highway combo salt trucks.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership or heavy equipment repair background preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and engine repair.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and trailers safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance including brake repair, alignment, shocks & struts replacement, tire service, and suspension work.
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using power tools and hand tools for repairs.
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform physical tasks required in heavy equipment operation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues accurately.
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
- Relevant certifications or technical training in diesel engine repair or heavy equipment servicing are preferred but not mandatory.
