To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers within assigned territories, with a focus on retailer and dealer networks.
- Promote flooring and countertop products to drive sales growth.
- Provide product training and support to store personnel to enhance their ability to present and sell effectively.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company products, market trends, and the competitive landscape to position offerings strategically.
- Manage displays, samples, and sales tools to ensure customer accessibility.
- Advise dealers on retail pricing strategies, promotions, advertising, and return on investment, utilizing an understanding of retail financials.
- Prepare quotes, discuss credit terms, and create sales contracts for customer orders.
- Estimate delivery timelines based on company delivery schedules.
- Analyze sales data to identify new opportunities and customer needs.
- Leverage marketing materials such as catalogs, brochures, and vendor collateral to expand reach and promote products.
- Research and assess customer demand based on evolving market trends.
- Address and resolve customer concerns related to deliveries, returns, and credits.
- Attend trade shows and industry events as needed.
- Willing to travel up to 90%, with most travel being local and occasional overnight trips.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and Experience requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Previous sales experience is a plus
- Industry experience is beneficial but not required
- Strong math skills for calculating discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, and volume.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and in teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM platforms preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
