Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Layout Technician to join our team. You will provide an essential part within our design team. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the success and quality of our fire protection installations.
Responsibilities
- Layout: Design and layout fire sprinkler systems in accordance with all NFPA codes and Fire Marshal requirements. Utilizing AutoSprink or similar software to create accurate and efficient sprinkler system layouts.
- Calculations: Perform all preliminary and final hydraulic calculations and size piping for fabrication and installation according to jobsite conditions.
- Project Turnover: Work with the Estimator/Project Manager for the transfer of project information, including estimated materials, preliminary designs, water flow information and architectural/mechanical construction documents.
- Surveying: Conduct site surveys and inspections as needed to gather necessary information for design purposes.
- Field Assistance: Provide technical support and guidance to installation teams during project execution.
- Data Entry and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of customer and project information in our CRM system.
- Other Duties: Perform other layout tasks as assigned by management.
- AutoCAD experience. (AutoSprink/HydraCAD experience preferred)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
- Understanding of fire protection terminology, a plus.
- NICET Level I-III certifications, a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications, a plus.
- HS Diploma or GED Required.
