Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide exceptional patient care across diverse healthcare settings. Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, ensuring timely documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Support medication administration under supervision while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease by implementing memory care strategies and ensuring safety protocols.
- Assist with medical procedures such as phlebotomy or catheter care when trained and authorized to do so.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection and ensure a sterile environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to address needs and provide updates on patient status.
- Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transfer using safe handling practices and ensuring proper documentation of medical records.
- Participate in ongoing training related to emergency medicine, ICU protocols, hospice care, or other specialized areas to enhance clinical skills.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in various healthcare environments such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, or outpatient clinics.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and record management.
- Experience providing senior care, geriatrics, or working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) certifications such as CPR are required.
- Prior exposure to critical care settings including ICU or Level II trauma centers enhances clinical competency.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices during patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices.
- Experience working with pediatric populations or in outpatient/clinic settings is advantageous for diverse caregiving roles.
