Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailers, including tanker, flatbed, refrigerated trailer, dump truck, roll-off truck, and other freight hauling equipment, with precision and safety.
- Drive route-driven deliveries to various locations, ensuring timely and accurate load & unload operations.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, adhering to safety protocols.
- Safely handle and transport different types of freight, including liquids in tanker trailers and general cargo on flatbeds or refrigerated units.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Follow all federal, state, and company regulations related to commercial driving, including hours of service and load securement standards.
- Maintain detailed logs of trips, cargo documentation, and safety reports for compliance purposes.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on commercial transportation of freight.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers.
- Experience with various trailer types such as tanker, refrigerated trailer, flatbed, dump truck, or roll-off truck.
- Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently using forklifts or manual methods while following safety guidelines.
- Strong knowledge of route driving and delivery procedures across diverse terrains.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; familiarity with freight handling regulations is preferred.
