Position Summary
The Transportation Compliance Administrator is responsible for working with employees to ensure they are in compliance with all local and federal state laws and regulations along with company policies for driving. As well as driver scheduling, and all aspects of driver routes.

- Establishing efficient routes and transportation schedules
- Coordinating Drivers and on-staff maintenance professionals when setting employee schedules
- Monitoring Drivers to ensure adherence to schedules and proper driving practices
- Driver Scheduling – ensure staffing meets daily route demands.
- Receive driver scan rate and calculate percentage and send to transportation director.
- Ensure all routes are configured, resourced (trucks etc.) and staffed to achieve daily and weekly customer promises.
- New route and stop assignments. Evaluate and facilitate route adjustments (customer adds, new day/time, customer drops, route refinement) to meet Sales demands and to optimize routes.
- Ensure routes are constructed to reliably achieve DOT HOS regulations.
- Work with Ryder (vendor partner) to assure vehicle readiness to include timely substitutions when needed.
- Making equipment available for scheduled preventative maintenance. Weekly schedule reported.
- Real time resource tracking (where trucks, trailers, tractors, and any key equipment are located).
- Notify sales team on WhatsApp of any late or delayed routes. This task is shared with Transportation Director and Transportation Compliance Administrator. Whoever is aware first posts the information.
- Order fuel to ensure availability for drivers to fuel trucks.
- Researching shortage issues and determining by research (was it picked, loaded, scanned by driver etc.) whether a customer is due credit or not.
- When a driver calls after finding a product belonging to a previous delivery, organizes delivery to another store for a sales rep to help or will authorize bringing product back.
- Works with main Ryder mechanic on issues reported daily by drivers to determine priorities when knows the need the vehicle the next day, etc.
- Can make a judgement to allow a driver to return to a stop when stores are closed based on follow up with sales.
- Coaches/trains all drivers on ELD devices to stay in compliance. Correcting mistakes drivers have made to make sure they are legal when they are actually legal.
- When a driver cannot work and notifies the dispatcher first, and they can and do in many cases figure out who can do their route, and will let supervisor know what was worked out.
- When warehouse worker cannot go pick up the DSD from Novelty three times per week, determines who it is available and whether it will be a driver or another warehouse employee.
- uses sound judgement to speak on topics at the driver’s meetings that feels need addressing as an important part of the meeting with lots of sharing and learning.
- Uses judgement when scheduling driver’s physicals to keep them legal. Approves the bills for the physicals.
Education, Experience and Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in transportation management, project management, logistics, or a related field preferred.
- At least 2 years' experience as a dispatcher in a similar industry preferred.
- Advanced competency in transportation management or logistics software.
- Extensive experience in processing shipping documents, orders, and payments.
- Solid knowledge of transportation industry regulations.
- Superb time management and organizational skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities.
- Great problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Availability to resolve operational issues outside of business hours.
