What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Service Tech position at M & R Trucking INC?
Description:
The Diesel Service Tech will be doing oil changes, preventative maintenance, filter changes and lube changes.
- Inspect trucks/trailers for damage
- Prioritize workload
- Organize and clean shop area including restroom
- Maintain and stock tires
- Schedule oil changes according to mileage
- Conduct routine maintenance on vehicles including changing filters, checking and topping off fluids, etc…
- Inspect brakes and replace as needed
- Conduct vehicle repairs including but not limited to engine, drive train, electrical, belts, pumps and A/C work
- Mount/Dismount tires
- Work takes place in a shop as well as outside
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions

Requirements:- Must be able to pass a valid pre-employment drug test
- The employee will be asked to regularly carry 85 lbs
- Must have general knowledge of diesel engines, brake systems, and transmission services
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively both in written format and oral communications
- Must be able to follow directions and be aware of all safety policies
- Must be willing to learn & abide by applicable safety laws/rules
- Must have the ability to multi-task and establish priorities
- Must have the ability to read, write and speak English effectively
- Must have the ability to read blueprints and schematics
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, sit, talk, and listen. The employee is required to use hands to handle, operate or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a CDL is preferred
