Full Job Description
M. R. Tanner Construction is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with a Class A CDL is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy machinery while also being qualified to transport equipment and vehicles requiring a commercial driver’s license. This dual role combines mechanical expertise with safe operation of large trucks and trailers.
Job Duties-
– Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy equipment
– Perform preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and constructions machinery
– Document repairs and maintenance accurately in longs, work orders, and timesheets
– Respond to service calls for breakdowns in the field
– Ensure Compliance with EPA, OSHA, DOT, and company Safety Regulations
– Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot diesel engines and hydraulic systems
– Other duties assigned as necessary

Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy equipment or truck repair
- Class A CDL License
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail
- Self-starter, result-oriented individual with sufficient interpersonal skills to fit within company culture and become a valuable team member.
- High school diploma or GED; vocational training in diesel or heavy equipment mechanics preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and respond to emergency repairs
- Physical capability to lift heavy parts, work overheard, and operate tools safely
