JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The Accounting Clerk prepares and processes accounts receivable invoices and accounts payable transactions, maintains journals and subsidiary ledgers, and performs account balancing and reconciliation activities to support accurate financial reporting.

Essential Functions

• Provide routine to complex accounting, finance and clerical support.
• Verify information related to bills of lading, trip tickets, and supplier invoices; resolve questionable or missing data to ensure accurate invoicing.
• Perform customer invoicing functions to meet daily and monthly deadlines
• Analyze and reconcile credit card batch data processed in accounting software, researching causes of discrepancies, and taking action to ensure that accounts balance.

• Provide suggestions for handling unusual or non-recurring transactions.
• Conformance with requirements and technical soundness of completed work are reviewed by the supervisor or are controlled by mechanisms built into the accounting processes.
• Understand and use Microsoft Excel to analyze data and reconcile balances.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing, and occasionally stand, walk, reach, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a Non-Exempt / Full-Time position:

ONSITE: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Associate Degree in Accounting, Preferred
• (2) Two years of accounting experience
• Training or experience in computer applications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office 365 Applications
• Great Plains (GP) experience
• ADDS software experience
• Ability to analyze and reconcile financial data.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and business information.
