Job Overview:
We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily activities and enhancing their quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with meal preparation, personal care, and daily living activities
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting
-Problem solve and co-regulate with escalated residents/clients.
-Complete Behavior Data Tracking, ISP goal tracking
-Provide structure and stability to residents
-Support Residents engaging in challenging behaviors such as verbal aggression, unsafe social behaviors, etc.
-Administer medications
-Participate in activities in the community with residents and engage residents to participate in activities.
-Transport to and from activities/appointment when necessary
- Implement behavior management strategies to support individuals in achieving their goals
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure their well-being and safety
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and families to provide comprehensive care
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and individual progress
Skills:
-Maintain professional boundaries with residents and other employees.
-Experience in meal preparation and assisting individuals with developmental disabilities
-Has professional boundaries and ability to be positive role model for residents.
-Knowledge of behavior management techniques and patient care practices
- Familiarity with Residential care or assisted living or nursing home environments
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and co-regulate.
-Proactive in engaging clients/residents.
-Willingness to be active with clients/residents and encourage them to integrate into the community through various activities.
-Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Understanding of resident rights and support systems for individuals with developmental disabilities
- Compassionate attitude and dedication to improving the lives of others
