What You'll Do
- Operate forklifts and related equipment to safely load and unload trucks, including tractor trailers, with ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
- Move, stack, and organize metal materials throughout the yard to keep traffic flowing and work areas clear.
- Assist with sorting, processing, and general labor tasks to support daily yard production needs.
- Work safely and efficiently in outdoor conditions year-round, following all site and safety procedures.
- Complete daily equipment inspections, report maintenance needs, and help keep the yard clean and orderly.
- Within your first few months, you consistently load and unload tractor trailers accurately and safely, without damage or incidents.
- You keep materials organized so trucks move in and out on schedule and the yard stays efficient and productive.
- You are recognized as a reliable team member who communicates well, follows safety rules, and can be counted on to step in where needed.
- You help maintain clean, safe work areas and well-maintained equipment, contributing to our strong safety culture.
- At least 3 years of forklift operating experience; prior work in a scrap yard, warehouse, or industrial environment is a plus.
- Proven experience loading and unloading tractor trailers with a forklift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong safety mindset, solid communication skills, and a track record of reliability, punctuality, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
