Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Pipe Layer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing underground piping systems essential for infrastructure projects, including pipelines for water, sewage, electric, and storm drainage. Your expertise will ensure that all piping installations meet safety standards, technical specifications, and project deadlines. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, utilizing heavy equipment and precision techniques to deliver high-quality results.
Responsibilities
- Lay out pipe routes according to plans, ensuring proper alignment and elevation using pipe lasers and other precision tools.
- Connect pipes using plumbing skills and concrete forming methods to create secure and durable installations.
- Perform utility locating to identify existing underground utilities before excavation to prevent damage or accidents.
- Conduct site inspections during installation to verify proper pipe placement, slope, and connection integrity.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to accurately install piping systems.
- Operate heavy equipment when needed such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and rear/front loader trucks to excavate trenches and position pipes efficiently.
- Maintain safety protocols at all times while working on construction sites, adhering to OSHA standards and company policies.
Qualifications (Certifications in heavy equipment operation or relevant safety training are a plus but not mandatory. )
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, rear dumps, and front loader trucks.
- Skilled in pipe laser use for precise alignment of pipeline components.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, concrete finishing, welding, and concrete forming techniques.
- Familiarity with utility locating methods and pipeline installation procedures in construction environments.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions on diverse construction sites.
- Construction site experience with a focus on pipeline or plumbing projects preferred.
