Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator

Role Expectations:

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a variety of heavy machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and graders, to support site preparation, grading, trenching, and other civil construction activities. This role requires a strong understanding of equipment capabilities, job site safety, and project specifications. Operators are expected to perform routine maintenance checks and assist with general labor tasks as needed to support overall project success.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

· Proficiency in operating heavy equipment including excavators and skid steers.

· Strong understanding of job site safety procedures and hazard awareness.

· Ability to read and follow site plans, grade stakes, and construction layouts.

· Ability to navigate difficult terrain and lift up to 50 pounds.

· Basic mechanical knowledge for conducting equipment inspections and minor maintenance.

· Ability to complete all required daily equipment reports.

· Awareness of load limits and safe lifting practices.

· Effective communication with foremen and crew members.

· Physical ability to work in all outdoor conditions and perform manual tasks as needed.

· Commitment to quality, efficiency, and timely project completion.

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 10 years of experience operating heavy equipment.

· High School Diploma or GED required.

· Valid drivers license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

· Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and MVR check.

· Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
