We’re seeking a reliable, hands-on Field Technician to join our growing team near Brockton, MA. This role is ideal for someone with cable installation, telecom, or utility field experience who enjoys working outdoors, troubleshooting on-site, and using technical tools to collect and document field data.
You’ll play an essential role in supporting engineering and infrastructure projects by gathering accurate field information, identifying equipment, and ensuring high-quality data for design and construction teams.
Key Responsibilities
Field Data Collection
- Collect and document field data at utility and infrastructure sites.
- Use digital devices, GPS units, cameras, and data loggers to record field conditions.
Measurement & Documentation
- Take accurate measurements of poles, equipment, and site features.
- Create clear and precise “as-built” records following standard practices.
Field Support
- Support field mapping, staking, and site photography.
- Assist engineering staff with on-site reconnaissance and verification.
Technology & Tools
- Operate tools such as GPS receivers, laser range finders, and handheld data loggers.
- Learn new software and field data collection systems as needed.
Equipment Identification
- Recognize and document utility components such as poles, cables, and transformers with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade training a plus).
- Previous experience in cable installation, utilities, construction, or surveying preferred.
- Comfortable working outdoors and using measurement tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
