Growing company in the Mainsfield, Mass area is seeking a entry level Field Tech
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Field Technician to join our utility services team. This role involves performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs on overhead electrical distribution systems using specialized tools, including the Hastings hot stick, to ensure compliance with safety standards and reliable power delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate a Hastings hot stick and other insulated tools to perform line work on energized and de-energized systems.
Conduct visual inspections of overhead lines, transformers, and related equipment to identify hazards or required maintenance.
Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of power distribution infrastructure.
Follow OSHA, company, and industry safety protocols when working around high-voltage equipment.
Document work performed, test results, and inspection findings accurately.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot and resolve field issues efficiently.
Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in proper working condition.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in utility field work, electrical line maintenance, or related field preferred.
Working knowledge of electrical safety and the use of insulated tools, especially the Hastings hot stick.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and at heights.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and physical requirements of the job.
Work Environment:
This position requires fieldwork in all weather conditions, physical labor, and adherence to strict safety procedures. Technicians must be comfortable working near high-voltage electrical systems and following lockout/tagout procedures.
