Job Description
The Senior Account Manager services and manages an assigned book of commercial insurance business while supporting Account Executives in delivering consistent, high‑quality client service. This role serves as a key point of contact for clients, guiding them through renewals, responding to service and cancellation inquiries, and ensuring accuracy across policies, endorsements, audits, and related documentation. The Senior Account Manager prepares renewal submissions, reviews carrier quotes, assists with proposal development, and coordinates follow‑ups to ensure timely and competitive outcomes. In addition, this role partners with Account Associates and Account Managers to share expertise, support performance, and uphold ME Wilson’s commitment to service excellence through proactive communication and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and service a introductory assigned book of business while also continuing to assist the Account Executive(s)
- Service and monitor assigned accounts
- May be first point of contact on some accounts; supports in delivering service to book of business.
- Work collaboratively and independently with producers and clients to service their assigned accounts.
- Review and respond to cancellation inquiries with a focus on client retention and service continuity.
- Responsible for compiling and managing information regarding account renewal, rounding and cross-sell opportunities
- Guides clients through the renewal process, which may include requesting renewal exposures, submitting requests to carriers based on renewal timetable.
- Process renewals according to agency procedures
- Provides renewal and proposal presentations for delivery to clients
- First review of quotes and assist with preparation of proposals.
- Support Account Executives in the renewal process by following renewal timeline, preparing renewal submissions, gathering underwriting information, and reviewing policy terms.
- Complete and submit applications to marketing and/or carriers; follow up to ensure timely receipt of quotations and policies in accordance with renewal/expiration list procedures
- Process required supplemental applications and appropriate excess lines forms
- Ensure the accuracy of binders, certificates, policies, audits, endorsements, and other related items
- Prepare premium allocations for clients as needed
- Review and process policy audits; verify accuracy and facilitate audit disputes as needed
- Guide and partner with Account Associates and Account Managers to enhance performance, share expertise, and ensure cohesive service delivery.
- Quote and bind Special Event, Builders Risk, and Flood insurance policies in accordance with underwriting guidelines and client needs
- Attends industry related continuing education training and courses.
- Adhere to ME Wilson’s commitment to service excellence by fostering positive relationships with clients, carriers, and internally through proactive communication and responsive service.
- Perform other duties as required to support the team and ensure client satisfaction.
- May be assigned special projects from time to time
Desired Education, Skills, and Experience:
- FL 2-20 required.
- Experience with AMS360 and ImageRight preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in the insurance industry or similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance products, coverages, and industry regulations.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication and
- interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with insurance agency management systems (AMS).
- Ability to work as part of a team.
