Job Overview
We are seeking a fast learner who is detail-oriented and organized to join our healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment. This role involves managing patient interactions, coordinating appointments, and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk. This includes inputting patient demographics and insurance into the computer system correctly. Strong computer skills and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage incoming calls using multi-line phone systems, addressing inquiries and directing calls appropriately. Taking detailed phone messages.
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain an organized calendar.
- Verify patient insurance information and perform insurance verification.
- Collect payments and manage medical collections as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and data entry using Microsoft Office applications.
- Support the healthcare team by assisting with patient intake processes.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using EHR systems; experience with iMedEMR Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Strong computer skills including typing proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient service and phone etiquette.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
