Contract Type: Full-Time Contract (6 months with possible extension)

Position Summary

M Consulting LLC is seeking an experienced Accessibility Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to support the Minnesota Judicial Branch's Information Technology Division. This role requires a seasoned QA professional with extensive experience in digital accessibility testing and software quality assurance. The successful candidate will ensure that multiple web and desktop applications meet WCAG accessibility standards while supporting functional testing throughout the software development lifecycle.

This is a remote position within the United States with the expectation of being available during standard business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Central Time).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive accessibility testing on web and desktop applications using WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA standards.
  • Conduct accessibility validation using:
  • NVDA
  • JAWS
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Browser accessibility tools
  • Execute functional, regression, exploratory, and accessibility testing across multiple applications.
  • Identify, document, and prioritize accessibility and functional defects with clear remediation guidance for developers.
  • Validate defect fixes and verify accessibility compliance after remediation.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and project teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality, accessible software.
  • Support multiple concurrent projects while managing competing priorities effectively.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and quality assurance planning activities.
  • Maintain detailed testing documentation and provide regular status updates to project leadership.
  • Follow client QA methodologies, standards, templates, and documentation requirements.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining excellent communication with stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8 years of software Quality Assurance experience.
  • 5 years of hands-on digital accessibility testing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience testing applications against WCAG 2.1 and/or WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
  • Hands-on experience using:
  • NVDA
  • JAWS
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Browser accessibility inspection tools
  • Experience identifying accessibility issues and documenting actionable defects for development teams.
  • Strong experience performing:
  • Functional Testing
  • Regression Testing
  • Exploratory Testing
  • Understanding of accessibility implementation in HTML, ARIA, semantic markup, and web standards.
  • Ability to manage testing activities across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum software development environments.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) for test planning, execution, and defect management.
  • Experience with accessibility testing tools such as:
  • Axe DevTools
  • WAVE
  • ANDI
  • Lighthouse
  • Knowledge of:
  • Section 508 Compliance
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • 28 CFR Part 35
  • Digital accessibility best practices
  • Experience partnering directly with software developers to resolve accessibility issues.
  • Experience supporting government agencies or highly regulated organizations.

Project Objectives

The selected consultant will support accessibility validation and remediation efforts across multiple enterprise applications with the objective of achieving and maintaining WCAG 2.1 AA compliance by April 2027.

Responsibilities include ongoing accessibility validation for new features, enhancements, and production releases to ensure accessibility compliance throughout the application lifecycle.

  • Full-time contract
  • Approximately 6-month engagement with potential extension

Additional Requirements

  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • Must sign confidentiality, participation, and assignment of rights agreements.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism while working with government stakeholders.

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
