Role Description
The Controller is a full-time, on-site position based in Leeds, Alabama, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s financial management. This role manages the accounting function and provides accurate financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.
Primary responsibilities include overseeing the general ledger, preparing and reviewing financial statements, monitoring cash flow, developing budgets and forecasts, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records. The Controller leads the month-end and year-end close processes, maintains effective internal controls, and ensures compliance with GAAP and all applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
In addition to financial responsibilities, the Controller will coordinate the company’s information technology needs by working closely with a dedicated third-party managed IT provider. This includes helping oversee technology initiatives, system administration, cybersecurity coordination, and end-user support to ensure reliable and secure business operations.
Qualifications
· Demonstrated expertise in financial accounting, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end close.
· Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and cost analysis within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
· Proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills for financial reporting and data analysis.
· Thorough knowledge of GAAP, financial controls, and regulatory compliance requirements, including experience coordinating external audits.
· Proven leadership ability with experience managing and developing accounting personnel while collaborating effectively across departments.
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
