Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces through sanding, masking, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Apply primers, paints, coatings, and clear coats using conventional spray guns and airless paint spraying equipment with precision and consistency
- Perform surface repairs including dent removal, filling imperfections, and auto body refinishing to restore vehicles to their original condition
- Use hand tools, grinders, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out minor body repairs and structural adjustments as needed
- Conduct automotive buffing, polishing, and detailing to achieve a smooth, glossy finish that meets quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by properly handling paints, solvents, and other hazardous materials while adhering to respiratory protection guidelines
- Collaborate with team members on vehicle repair estimates and communicate effectively with customers regarding repair progress
Skills
- Proven dealership or automotive shop experience in auto body repair and painting techniques
- Strong knowledge of automotive surface preparation, masking techniques, sanding methods, and auto restoration processes
- Proficiency in using spray guns (including airless systems), buffing machines, grinders, and other power tools for auto body refinishing
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and auto glass replacement enhances overall repair quality
- Ability to operate welding equipment safely for minor structural repairs or modifications
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain repair procedures clearly
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and performing detailed finishing work efficiently
