Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Dispatch Clerk to coordinate and manage the efficient movement of freight and shipments within our logistics network. In this vital role, you will serve as the central communication hub, ensuring timely dispatching of trucks, accurate data entry, and seamless coordination between carriers, warehouse teams, and transportation management systems.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily dispatch activities by scheduling pickups and deliveries using transportation management system
- Utilize GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve overall fleet management efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse staff, and internal teams while maintaining professional etiquette.
- Enter and update shipment data accurately into logistics software.
- Monitor freight movements, shipping & receiving processes, and 3PL (third-party logistics) operations to ensure timely deliveries.
- Assist in transportation planning by analyzing supply chain data, identifying bottlenecks, and recommending improvements for logistics workflows.
- Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, shipment statuses, and incident reports to support analysis skills and compliance requirements.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, and transportation management systems
- Experience with freight logistics, shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management practices.
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret data related to transportation planning and supply chain operations.
- Proficiency in data entry with high accuracy
- Familiarity with 3PL providers, shipping documentation, freight tracking tools, and logistics best practices.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment involving dispatching duties.
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
