What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Superintendent position at Lytwyn Construction?
Lytwyn Construction is a Lehigh Valley-based commercial GC looking for a hands-on Project Superintendent to lead field operations across a diverse portfolio of projects. If you're a strong foreman ready to take the next step, or an experienced superintendent looking for a growing company where your work actually matters — we want to hear from you.
About Us
Lytwyn Construction is a growing commercial general contracting and construction management company based in the Lehigh Valley. We work on a variety of projects — from ground-up construction to interior fit-outs — across sectors including education, healthcare, multifamily housing, restaurants, and retail. We're seeking an experienced and dependable Project Superintendent to take ownership of our job sites and lead our field operations.
The Role
As Project Superintendent, you are the authority on site. You'll oversee daily field operations across multiple projects, direct crews and subcontractors, enforce safety and quality standards, and serve as the primary point of contact between the field and the project management team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes pride in running a tight, well-organized job site.
Superintendent Responsibilities
- Field Leadership — Direct on-site crews and subcontractors, ensuring work is executed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and schedules
- Schedule & Progress Management — Monitor daily site activities, track project milestones, and proactively identify and resolve schedule impacts
- Safety & Compliance — Enforce jobsite safety standards, conduct site inspections, and maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant work environment
- Quality Control — Verify that all work meets plans, specs, and quality expectations; manage punch list completion through project closeout
- Site Coordination — Coordinate deliveries, subcontractor access, inspections, and other site activities to keep the project moving efficiently
- Documentation & Reporting — Maintain accurate daily logs, document site conditions and progress, and communicate updates regularly to project managers and the office team
- Multi-Site Oversight — Travel between job sites as needed to monitor progress, support crews, and ensure consistent standards across all active projects
- Hands-On Support — Step in with self-perform work when needed, particularly in carpentry, drywall, ceilings, doors/hardware, and general finish work
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in commercial construction, with field leadership experience
- Prior experience as a foreman or lead carpenter strongly preferred — this role is ideal for someone ready to step fully into a superintendent position
- Strong carpentry and finish work skills (drywall, ceilings, doors/hardware)
- Proven ability to manage crews, coordinate subcontractors, and keep a job site on schedule
- Clear communicator who can interface effectively with project managers, subs, and ownership
- Organized and tech-comfortable — we use digital tools for daily logs and project updates
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
What We Offer
- Salary of $75,000 - $95,000 depending on experience, with the opportunity to grow within the range quickly based on performance
- Overtime opportunities
- A steady pipeline of diverse, interesting projects
- Real room for growth within an expanding company
- Health Insurance and Paid Time Off
Salary : $75,000 - $95,000
