Position Description:
The SMB Account Executive is responsible for driving new commercial revenue within assigned territories by identifying, qualifying, and closing SMB opportunities. This role partners closely with local community leaders, chambers of commerce, and business owners to provide internet solutions that improve operational efficiency, productivity, and long-term growth.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, consultative in approach, disciplined in pipeline management, and excited about representing a rapidly growing fiber provider in their market.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales Execution
- Prospect, qualify, and close new SMB customers across assigned cities within the company’s footprint.
- Conduct onsite visits to local businesses, build relationships, and deliver customized fiber connectivity solutions.
- Present and explain service offerings, pricing, and network capabilities in a clear, customerfriendly manner.
- Manage the entire sales cycle from initial outreach to contract execution.
- Develop and maintain an active sales pipeline through CRM tools and structured followup.
- Meet and exceed monthly sales quotas and activity expectations.
Community Engagement
- Represent the company at local events, chamber meetings, business gatherings, and community functions.
- Build strong relationships with economic development leaders, property managers, and local influencers.
- Serve as the “face of the brand” within the assigned region.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with construction, engineering, operations, and customer service teams to ensure projects move efficiently from sale to installation.
- Communicate customer needs, barriers, and feedback to leadership to help refine processes and enhance customer experience.
Customer Experience
- Ensure seamless onboarding experience for customers, including setting expectations for build timelines and installation steps.
- Maintain ongoing relationships to support renewals, upsells, and referrals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
- 13 years of B2B sales experience (telecom, SaaS, ISP, or technology preferred).
- Strong communication and relationshipbuilding skills.
- Proven ability to prospect and generate new business.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and timemanagement skills.
Preferred:
- Experience selling internet, fiber, or managed IT services.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.).
- Strong understanding of local business dynamics in Texas markets.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, or drive for extended periods while conducting field visits.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on occasion (marketing materials, small equipment, signage, etc.).
- Frequent travel within assigned territory; occasional travel to company meetings or events.
- Regular use of a laptop, tablet, and mobile phone for presentations and sales activities.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor elements while visiting customer locations and participating in community events.
Work Environment
- This role operates in a hybrid environment with time spent in the field, at customer sites, in community settings, and in a home/office workspace.

- Regular interaction with local businesses, community leaders, and internal crossfunctional teams.
- May involve attending earlymorning, evening, or weekend community events, depending on territory needs.
