This is a full-time on-site role for a Billing Specialist at Lyssy & Eckel Feeds in Roswell, New Mexico. This role entails strong organizational skills to serve agricultural customers in the feed manufacturing sector. Lyssy & Eckel is a high-growth, multi-site, privately held family owned company. The position will be responsible for the timely, efficient and accurate accounts receivable processing. This position will work closely with customers and will work remotely with Lyssy & Eckel corporate office in Poth, TX to support both the technical and functional aspects of the New Mexico billing applications, processes and procedures.
In addition, this role offers growth opportunity and requires flexibility in the way of customer relations and satisfaction at the counter and around the Roswell storefront. Candidate will be expected to greet customers both in person and over the phone and be able to suggest retail items, recommend Lyssy & Eckel feeds and understand customer needs especially in times of high traffic store hours.
- Able to interact with customers in a professional manner, representing Lyssy & Eckel with honesty and integrity.
- Candidate must have basic customer service skills that include proven phone etiquette as well as independent judgement in resolving problems.
- Intermediate computer skills with an understanding of more complex computer software such as operating systems, databases, file management and team sharing.
- Must be organized and precise in ordering and receiving, keeping excellent records and timestamps.
- Must be personable and flexible to work on other duties as assigned: operating the front counter, suggesting retail items, understanding basic feed function and making recommendations to customers in person and over the phone.
- Performs day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying and recording data.
- Verify the accuracy of invoices, check requests, etc. Then code such items with correct account codes, ensuring proper entry into the financial system.
- Handles inquiries via phone or email from internal staff members and external vendors.
- Receives, researches and resolves a variety of inquiries concerning account status.
- Reconciles the accounts payable to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Agricultural experience or knowledge is preferred but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Ability to understand customer needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
- Self-motivated with a strong drive for results and the ability to work in a team.
