Locum Tenens Dentist (Pediatric or General)
Temporary Coverage – Maternity Leave

Position Overview
We are seeking a Locum Tenens Dentist to provide temporary coverage during a maternity leave in our established pediatric dental practice. This role is open to either a Pediatric Dentist or a General Dentist who is comfortable providing routine dental care for children.
The locum dentist will support continuity of care by delivering high-quality, compassionate dentistry in a child-friendly environment, supported by an experienced pediatric dental team.
The goal is to maintain patient recares (exam and cleanings) with minimal treatment scheduled and minimal to no new patients scheduled during this time. Owner doctor will be available for any questions throughout this leave.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine dental care for pediatric patients, including:
- Examinations, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants
- Basic restorative procedures appropriate for children
- Simple extractions as clinically appropriate
- Diagnose and treatment plan within scope of training and comfort level
- Communicate clearly with parents/guardians regarding treatment and prevention
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate with dental assistants and front office staff
- Follow all CDC infection control guidelines, OSHA standards, and HIPAA requirements
- Comply with Florida Board of Dentistry rules and office protocols
Qualifications
- DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
- Active, unrestricted Florida dental license
- Pediatric Dentist: Completion of an accredited pediatric residency or
General Dentist: Demonstrated comfort and experience treating children for routine care
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Professional liability (malpractice) insurance (or ability to obtain)
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, child-friendly chairside manner
- Ability to integrate quickly into an existing team and schedule

- Duration: Approximately 4–6 weeks
- Coverage Period: Late February 2026 through March 2026
- Days: Flexible, 1–3 days per week
