ABOUT THE ROLE:
SNAPSHOT: The Accounting Clerk position is an entry-level position responsible for providing accounting and clerical support to the accounting department to ensure that all company payables are updated and processed in a timely manner.
- DEPARTMENT: Accounting
- COMPENSATION: Hourly
- BENEFITS: Health, Dental, Vision, Basic Life, Short/Long Term Disability, PTO, Holiday Pay, 401(K)
- COMMITMENT: Full-Time (Monday – Friday)
- LOCATION: Port Allen, Louisiana
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews and reconciles daily receiving and purchasing orders.
- Verifies, enters, and reconciles invoices.
- Maintains vendor files and assists vendors with billing questions and / or concerns.
- Accurately and efficiently processes payments and check disbursements in compliance with company procedures.
- Verifies and resolves any discrepancies in check disbursements.
- Mails and / or distributes checks in a timely manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
ABOUT YOU:
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years or older. Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge and proficiency in Math and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc).
- Solid understanding of basic accounts payable principles.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets, proprietary software and Ten Key calculator preferred.
- Strong work ethic and self-motivated to have sound methods for follow-up and work independently of direct supervision and as part of a team.

- Organizational skills with keen attention to detail, accuracy and time management skills.
- Dependable - ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer literacy and data entry skills - Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Communication Skills - Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions. Interact effectively with all levels of management and employees through communication in-person, over-the-phone, and in-writing.
